Our friend Aude is raising money again for YouthHope by running. His goal is to raise $1,000 to benefit YouthHope's Life Skill's Class. Thank you Aude for always supporting us. Good luck in your races!
What is the YouthHope Skills Class?
We have seen over the years that the youth that we serve lack in basic skills. They were either not taught life skills because of the lack of parenting and situations at home, or they were taught incorrect life skills. In 2016, The YouthHope Foundation partnered with Loma Linda University to create a skills class where we bridge the gap for our youth. We teach them basic life skills that help to become self-sufficient. We have also partnered with a local high school to award credits to the youth who complete the entire 8-week course. Since we started in 2016, we have seen over 478 different youth attend our Life Skills Class. Some of the skills that we teach include relationships, supports, risks of sexting, substance abuse, physical activity, nutrition, oral health, among others.
